About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison's (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE's 5 million customer accounts.
Position Overview
This position will be in the Distribution Construction and Maintenance (DC&M) division within Southern California Edison's (SCE) Transmission & Distribution Organizational (T&D). The Underground Detailed Inspection (UDI) General Foreman is directly responsible for the supervision of multiple crews performing construction, inspection and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure that all aspects directly related to inspection and maintenance activities are optimized, including: resource utilization, crew productivity and safe work practices.
Typical responsibilities may include:
Ensuring the appropriate training of subordinates and administering recognition and discipline.
Interfacing with subordinates, peers, and management regarding daily work activities.
Acting as the gate keeper to review and approve all repair work, ensuring the appropriate maintenance priority and timeframes are assigned and all necessary data/information is input into the system.
Monitoring progress on the annual maintenance program; performing crew quality control checks.
Responsibility for meeting established financial, safety, customer satisfaction and reliability goals as they relate directly to Distribution, Construction, Inspection and Maintenance.
Managing the annual inspection and maintenance program; and other duties as directed.
Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have supervisory and/or team leadership experience.
Must have experience in the operation and/or construction and maintenance of the electric system.
Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
Desired Qualifications
Associate Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Typically possesses five or more years combined experience performing and/or supervising design, construction and maintenance, and/or inspection activities on the electric distribution system.
Demonstrated experience working with the underground construction, maintenance and operation of the electrical distribution system and associated regulatory requirements, including current inspection priority rating process and Distribution Inspection and Maintenance Program (DIMP).
Demonstrated experience working with bargaining unit employees, including the application of union agreement, handling labor relations and diversity issues.
Demonstrated experience working with environmental compliance, hazardous waste management, safe working practices, construction/maintenance methods, techniques, tools, and equipment.
Demonstrated knowledge of distribution accounting.
Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation of quality assurance, cost per inspection and annual maintenance programs.
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of GO 95, 128, 165 and Accident Prevention Manual safety rules.
Must have experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
