is looking for a qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst to work in our clients medical facility located in Cathedral City, CA.
The Behavior Analyst provides behavioral services for up to at least 40 consumers following established standards and procedures for the facility.
The Behavior Specialist will perform functional behavioral assessments; develop behavioral strategies in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team (IDT), providers, and other behavior specialists for prevention and intervention plans.
The Behavior Specialist will provide on-site direct care, modeling, coaching, instruction and training with consumers and their caretakers/direct care staff in community settings, including consumers homes.
The Behavior Specialist must be competent in the areas of cultural sensitivity for the population being served, positive behavioral supports, trauma informed care, coping skills training, person centered practices, and utilize less restrictive techniques to address behavioral issues.
The Behavior Specialist will provide behavioral services to residents as needed.
The Behavior Specialist actively participates as part of the IDT at weekly meetings, client IPPs, Psychotropic Medication Reviews, Psychiatric Rounds Meetings, and Emerging Risk Notification Evaluation meetings.
The Behavior Specialist is a mandated reporter of observed or suspected abuse or neglect.

Duties include but are not limited to:
A.
Individual Assessment and Treatment 1.
Completes the 30-day admission functional behavioral assessment and positive behavioral support plan, with emphasis on person-centered planning, trauma informed care, and cultural and linguistic sensitivity.
Positive behavior support plans would include the development of long-range goals, skill tasks, behavioral objectives, replacement behavioral skills objectives.
2.
Assist the team in determining the appropriate data to collect and monitor.
Maintains data collection systems for decision-making purposes.
3.
Provides applied behavioral analysis treatments with individuals.
4.
Maintain progress notes that cover pertinent aspects of the individuals condition and current status and goals.
The BCBA will work with the facility team members.
B.
Support Individual Discharges and Transfers.
1.
Upon request, provide whatever documentation or other information may be needed at the time of transfer to enable care continuity at a receiving facility and to allow the facility to meet its legal, regulatory, and clinical responsibilities for a discharged individual.
C.
Make Periodic, Pertinent Follow-up of Individuals.
1.
Follows up with individuals based on facility policies, consistent with applicable state and federal regulations, depending on the individuals behavioral and psychiatric stability, recent and previous behavioral and psychiatric history, presence of significant or previously unidentified medical or psychiatric conditions, or problems that require follow up.
2.
Determine progress of each individuals condition at the time of follow up by evaluating the individual, talking with the staff as needed, talking with responsible parties/family as indicated, and reviewing relevant information, as needed.
3.
Respond to issues requiring a psychologists expertise, including the individuals current condition, the status of any acute episodes of behavior since last visit, other actual or high-risk potential psychiatric/behavioral problems that are affecting the individuals functional, physical, or cognitive status, and staff individual, or family questions regarding the individuals care and treatments.
4.
At each consult/follow up, provide a legible progress note in following the consult (timely to be defined by facility policies).
Over time, these progress notes should address relevant information about significant ongoing, active, or potential problems, including reason for changing or maintaining current treatments or medications, and a plan to address relevant psychiatric issues.
Requirements:
Master's degree in ABA, Psychology, Education or other related field Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification The following are preferred:
Minimum 3 years successful school-based experience.
Evidence of:
Exceptional communication skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Experience with conflict resolution skills.
Demonstration of:
Ability to use technology for record-keeping and research.
Extensive knowledge of ethical practices and professional standards related to children with mental issues or disability.
